With a standard parallel 4 link setup, the instant center does not move forward or backward. Creating no more leverage on the chassis after launch. With a short upper bar, the instant center moves up AND forward, creating more leverage on the chassis. Which is especially helpful for no prep or lower HP cars.
Moves mounting point back 4 inches.
